Mathis Foundation and Flying Pig Marathon Combine Forces for SWOFCA
 
The Mathis Foundation for Children has joined forces with the Flying Pig Marathon to generate money for SWOFCA, the Southwest Ohio Family Care Affiliate. MFC will collect funds raised through this effort and all proceeds will be given to SWOFCA, a local organization that advocates on behalf of foster, adoptive, and kinship families.

About The Flying Pig Marathon About SWOFCA
The Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon will celebrate its 10th anniversary weekend Friday, May 2-Sunday, May 4, 2008. Named one of the top 10 “Most Fun Runs” in the world by Runner’s World magazine, the “Pig” has become the largest one-day sporting event in the Greater Cincinnati area, with more than 20,000 participants, 3,500 volunteers, 65 bands, cheering squads and entertainment zones, and an estimated 150,000 “Street Squealers” cheering the runners and walkers on. More than 70 non-profit organizations use “The Pig” to help raise money for their cause SWOFCA is a coalition of local foster parents and child welfare activists who work to strengthen our local foster care system. Through mentoring, training, advocacy and recruitment, SWOFCA strives to improve the lives of foster kids, our community’s most vulnerable children. SWOFCA also provides important support services to foster, adoptive and kinship parents, individuals who open their hearts and homes to those children who need it most.
